Most off-leash programs today rely on a remote e-collar. The dog learns to respond to a sensation on its neck, and the handler learns to hold a transmitter. It can look impressive quickly. But it is not the same thing as a dog who chooses to stay with you, and it is not what we do.
Off-leash obedience is the by-product of the same balanced, relationship-based obedience we teach in every in-home session. If your dog genuinely looks to you for guidance, the leash becomes a formality. Our job is to get you there, and to make sure you can keep it that way for the life of your dog.

- Get and hold your dog's attention with your voice and body, not a remote
- Call your dog off a distraction and have it come the first time
- Walk trails, fields, and beaches with a dog that stays in range without being restrained
- Correct clearly and fairly when needed, and stop correcting when it is not
- Keep the structure at home that makes all of the above stick
