Less about commands, more about cooperation. This montage follows Shawn and the dogs through a typical day of board-and-train at Best Buddy Dog Training.
What you're seeing
A montage of what happens in an ordinary day at the Best Buddy Dog Training home. The pack is usually a mix of Shawn's own dogs and client dogs partway through board and train. It is less about commands and more about overall temperament, behavior, and cooperation.
What board and train actually looks like
People picture a kennel with training sessions scheduled into it. Best Buddy Dog Training is the opposite. No kennel block; the dogs live the day alongside Shawn and each other, and the training is the day. Every walk, meal, doorway, and rest period is a lesson in who leads, who follows, and how to get along–which is why the dogs go home with habits instead of tricks.
Why the pack matters
Dogs are the absolute best dog trainers, and a dog learns faster from other dogs than from any human. A newly arrived trainee watches the pack interact with Shawn, lie down and stay, wait at gates, and follow off-leash; watches them run on the treadmill; and joins in because that is what the group does. The confident dogs steady the nervous ones, and the group's calm becomes the norm for every dog.
