Generally, a pre-requisite for reliable and trustworthy behavior in public is to teach your dog to be respectful, cooperative and obedient in and around your living environment. After all, if your dog won't come when called, walk peacefully behind you on command, or 'stay' when told to do so in a familiar setting, he's unlikely to be reliably obedient when there are more distractions and excitement all around.
"Leash aggression", "separation anxiety", "possessiveness", jumping on people, and being generally unruly and out of control are often rooted in the relationship and habits formed in your living environment with your dog(s). As a result, that familiar environment is the best place to start correcting those undesirable behaviors - for the dogs and people involved. So we start there and teach you how to gain and maintain control of your dog without treats, harsh corrections, yelling, or frustration.
Our goal is on get your dog to be obedient to you for the right reasons. We focus on things like Proximity - where your dog is in relation to you (and who decides), and teach you how to gain your dog's cooperation and obedience with commands like "here", "down", "wait", and "follow". You'll learn how to gain your dog's trust and respect while learning to respect and lead your dog with appropriate affection and effective corrections - without needing to use clickers, treats, prong collars, or e-collars.
